Rules & FAQ
Short, strict and the same for everyone.
Integrity comes first
Golf is built on a foundation that few other sports share: players police themselves, report their own scores, and protect the honesty of the competition. The PGA and the game's governing bodies have always held that integrity is not optional — it is the spirit of the game.
The Winter 8 is run on that same trust. Every scorecard you submit is a statement of honesty. Every round is verified. Every player is held to the same standard. Scores that don't stand up won't count, certificates that aren't genuine won't be approved, and the leaderboard is protected so the players who earn their place at the top get there fairly.
Competition rules
- 18-hole Stableford rounds only. Nine-hole or incomplete rounds are not accepted.
- Scorecards must be submitted within 48 hours of the round being played.
- Every round must include a photo of the signed scorecard.
- Only rounds verified and approved by an admin count towards the leaderboard.
- Your best 8 approved rounds make up your season total.
- 8 approved rounds are needed to be fully eligible for prizes. Fewer and you are shown as provisional.
- Any approved round of 40 Stableford points or more reduces your League Handicap by 5%, rounded to one decimal place, for all future rounds.
- The League Handicap is used for this competition only. It does not change your official WHS handicap.
- Entry is £20 for the season and is non-refundable once the certificate is approved.
- Admin decisions on certificates, rounds and eligibility are final.
